North German Nobel laureate


The tension is rising every year among the scientists of this world, when in early October are the bearers of the Nobel prizes announced. 
The ceremony will take place on 10 December in Stockholm and Oslo instead, the death of benefactor Alfred Nobel. Among the nearly 100 German Nobel Prize winners are also 17 native North German. 

 They were honored for their achievements in literature and science as well as the commitment to peace with the major prize. For his "Roman History" was awarded the North Frisian Theodor Mommsen in 1902 as the first German Nobel Prize for Literature, 1999, the award went to Günter Grass. Some winners in the portrait.
